Motion Moves Emotion

The word Emotion is derived from latin word "Emovere" meaning to move, move out. Emotions are essence of movement and not just an idea in your head, they are physically embodied. The way we feel affects the way we hold our body. Moshe Feldenkrais said to be sure your intention is clearly present in your movement, because the movement organizes itself when your intention is clear. Energy flows where intention goes. Easily, simply, comfortably. Using your body to free your mind is blessing bestowed by movement, by action. To live is to keep moving, to keep breathing. To meditate with mindful breathing is to bring body and mind back to the present moment. If you want to conquer the anxiety of life, live in the moment, live in the breath. And dance every chance you get. Dance is the purest expression of every emotion, earthly and spiritually.

Class description

"Motion Moves Emotion" Online Classes

​The Feldenkrais Method, invented by Moshe Feldenkrais, is a technique of Self-awareness through movement to improve our natural abilities to learn, change and continue to develop throughout our lives. It activates the nervous system through gentle and easy movements that help you change habits and allow you to move more efficiently, with grace and comfort. The classes are designed to awaken sensitivity, cultivate the skill of observation, and develop self-awareness of oneself while performing the movements. This is how the usual actions, the image of oneself, coordination, balance, kinesthetic sensation, among others, are improved. Feldenkrais method offers you greater freedom and mobility while keeping your brain active, improves health and well being, attention and concentration, reduces pain, improves posture and movement. It creates easier breathing, more trust in your own experience. 

The exercises are done on the floor mostly, or chair. 1 hour.

The Gyrokinesis Method, invented by Mr. Juliu Horvath, is combinations of swimming, dancing, tai chi, yoga and calisthenics movements and addresses the entire body, opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion and creating functional strength through rhythmic, flowing movement sequence. It strengthens the muscles that support the spine, hips and pelvis, while stabilizing the shoulder girdle in order to move without limitations. Gyrokinesis is a holistic approach to movement patterns that is designed to meet needs of people of all ages and abilities.

The exercise is done on a stool, on the floor and standing up.1.5 hours.

Dance as Therapy, the psycho therapeutic use of movement to promote emotional, social, cognitive and physical integration of the individual, for the purpose of improving health and well being. Tango Therapy, Argentine Tango has been used as a therapy for decades for neurological disorders like Parkinson's disease, because the basic tango elements are classified for therapeutic purposes. Belly dance promotes gaining strength and toning muscles, balance and posture, relaxation and increase in confidence.

Meditation, the habit that we can all use in life especially if it is done properly and with intention. It promises us skills to manage stress and get another perspective, focus on present and reduce negative emotions, increases imagination, creativity, patience and tolerance. It teaches us to own our breath, which shapes our body.
